Innovative Treatments.

a range of unique treatments

When you choose to do a personalised rehabilitation or mental health program at The Bay you will be the focus of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and a range of specialists in their chosen field. The integrated nature of The Bay Method allows our team to approach your unique presentation from a bio-psycho-social model of care. This means our team of specialists consider the biological, psychological, and social components contributing to your current situation in the development of your treatment plan, rather than being expected to participate in a generic program designed for a group, that you will find in a private hospital or private treatment centre.

Innovation is at the core of the clinical team and our personalised programs, and strongly influences the development and delivery of our treatments. The team understand that a clinical approach alone is not sufficient for long term recovery and therefore teach all our guests the benefits of meditation, to access the deeper realms of your consciousness and understand how your identity with work, relationships and money has corrupted your true identity or essence of yourself. One of the primary indicators of suffering and substance abuse is the lack of a spiritual practice such as meditation in your daily life.

Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy

While the use of psychedelics in the treatment of depression and PTSD is currently illegal in Australia the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) continues to evaluate a range of proposals around the provisions of medical treatments in Australia. The Bay clinical team is watching this area of treatments closely and look forward to the TGA’s final ruling in April 2022.

Nutritional Blood Analysis

Nutritional blood analysis assists the clinical team in identifying, diagnosing and treating health problems faster and more successfully than ever before. By using an extremely small amount of blood The Bay clinical team can examine blood cells and platelets in your blood to identify problems and develop suitable treatment protocols.

Live blood analysis is particularly useful in the identification of-

  • Immune system issues
  • Poor nutrition
  • Inflammation
  • Liver health
Virtual Reality for PTSD Treatment

Virtual Reality Therapy is cutting edge treatment being used by The Bay clinical team for the treatment of PTSD, phobias and anxiety disorders. The VRT sessions allow our guests to experience stimuli that would normally be overstimulating in a real-life setting, giving them the opportunity to work with our therapists to increase their capacity for exposure and develop self regulation strategies.

Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is direct training for brain function, by which the brain learns to function more efficiently. Also known as Electroencephalogram (EEG) Neurofedback because it is based on electrical brain activity, it aims to help our clients improve emotional, behavioural and cognitive functioning by training them to increase specific brain waves whilst inhibiting others.

While medication has traditionally been a temporary first intervention for many sufferers of anxiety, attention issues and over stimulation, Neurofeedback has shown to have positive benefits five years post treatment.

Genetic Testing for Cancer Markers (Preventative Medicine)

Not everyone needs genetic testing. However the team at The Bay understands for some individuals and their families genetic testing can provide important and useful information. For some families their risk of cancer may be higher due to hereditary or cancer in the family. In these cases screening can be an extremely useful tool in the prevention and management of ongoing familial cancer syndromes.

Optimal Weight Management

The main aim of The Bay’s Optimal Weight program is to blend two approaches, weight loss and detoxification. This is achieved through a combination of diet and exercise, detoxification and psychotherapy focussed on emotional eating. The focus of the therapies is to achieve long-lasting results through nutritional education, support around meals and eating, and aftercare support through The Bay Online Portal and Telemedicine sessions.

The Bay’s Optimal Weight program is primarily based around our guests’ relationship with food and eating habits rather than simply dieting and exercise.

Improved Sleep

Dysfunctional sleep is one of the main indicators in the treatment of depression, alcohol misuse, drug use and a range of mental health concerns. If you are not experiencing a good night sleep this could be contributing to a much larger issue. Sleep is also one of the primary healing processes in our body.

We place a large emphasis on improving clients’ sleep patterns to improve overall well-being.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicines play an important role in The Bay’s treatment approach and aim to support balance between your mental, physical and emotional experience, as when these domains are in balance optimum health and wellbeing can be achieved.

Osteopathy

The philosophy of Osteopathy is to provide the body with a holistic approach to health and stresses the importance of the musculoskeletal system in a person’s health. The team at The Bay have always considered Osteopathy an important part of the body’s natural healing process.

Clinical Neuropsychology

The Bay’s Neuropsychological team have advanced skills in the area of assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning. The team assesses and treats clients who are experiencing cognitive disorders associated with memory, learning, attention and decision making.
